Cape Coral has more than 400 miles of canals. In the southern half of the city they carry salt water from the Caloosahatchee River; in the north they are fresh water and land-locked. On a lanai by a salt canal, an outdoor refrigerator, ice maker or beverage cooler breathes salt air every day, and its condenser and hinges corrode well ahead of the same unit on a freshwater street.

Why do you ask whether we live on a Street or a Terrace?
Because in Cape Coral they can share a number and run side by side. Going north or south you cross a Street and then a Terrace with the same number before the number changes, and going east or west a Place and an Avenue pair up the same way. SW 10th Street and SW 10th Terrace are two different roads, so read us the address exactly as it is printed on a bill.
